We are looking for a automotive ME Capability Lead to work with  Engineering Projects and, Programme Managers around all our sites in the UK, you will be responsible for the engineering planning and execution activities within multiple high value, high risk and technically complex programmes.

The engineer is required to work a 5 day working week, this can be hybrid working on-site, in Expleo offices or from home.

• Delivery of current and future projects with our teams on customer sites and within Expleo offices throughout the UK.
• Leading the creation of the engineering planning and directing the planning definition at lower levels
• Report progress to the business stakeholders both internal and external
• Support and/or lead meetings with customers and any performance reviews, including preparation of documentation
• Working with the business unit to define the budget to support the development of the team.
• Creation of the work scope and timescales and drives the team accordingly
• Setting the culture  as delivery focused, through strong work package management and strong leadership
• Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the project technical leads and the broader engineering team
• Identify, specify, and manage demand for routine and specialist engineering resource
• Maintain effective working relationships our customer teams to ensure that requirements for expertise and support are met
• Integrate the outputs from the projects turning the capabilities into the required outcomes for the stakeholders
• Identifies potential problems / issues and works to resolve, escalating as appropriate
• Ensure effective lessons learned approaches are utilised, to capture the information and ensure our processes are appropriately updated on a continuous basis

• A recognised technology-based degree or equivalent, supported by sufficient experience to prove application of manufacturing engineering across the life-cycle ideally in automotive field
• A proven track record in leading technical activity in complex projects
• Able to technically mentor and instruct engineers, who are assigned to support you in the execution of the project
• Experience in Project Management tool-sets, such Microsoft Project
• Good understanding of Risk Management
• Experience in technical report writing
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in an engineering or engineering related discipline/domain

• Preferred experience would be in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 to an automotive OEM
• Experience of pilot or NPI projects would be an advantage
• Plant and line layouts as well as process tool understanding and application.
• Management of engineering teams to senior stakeholder level
• Ability to guide less Senior Engineers through their career pathways
• Must show the ability to work with teams that will include program managers and business development individuals whilst maintaining a strong work ethic to ensure current and future engineering teams can deliver within timescale and budget
