We are seeking a driven, personable and technically skilled parts Quality Assurance Engineer (Parts Supplier) to be part of our expert team. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The contract is deemed outside of IR35 for Sub-contract labour but Staff positions are available for the right candidates. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Product Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them to be based at our Client site. Working within the ME team in our Auto Business Unit, successful candidates will join our experienced team, with whom you will work on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the Quality Management System, ensuring that processes and procedures are kept in line with the customer requirements
  • Play a critical role in ensuring the needs of our customers are met, investigating and establishing root cause as a reaction to a part based quality problem whilst supporting cross functional team activities
  • Maintaining and developing local procedures and forms within the document management system
  • Facilitating external supplier audits
  • Identifying and implementing potential improvement projects across management system
  • Liaising with the customer global plants and reacting to concern management issue and documentation submission / approval Requirements
  • Accountable for managing and supporting the development of countermeasures through the supplier, R&D and plant network
  • Challenge, forward plan and make positive improvements to enhance part quality, reduce concern investigation time and to support implementation of robust countermeasures
  • Assess and improve part quality, use data analysis to continually improve the production processes, working alongside the supplier and plant manufacturing operations as well as with the customer's global R&D functions
  • Working closely with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Degree level desired

Essential skills

  • Experience in high paced, fast moving manufacturing environment. Automotive preferable but not essential
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC & MSA 

Desired skills

  • Alliance New Product Quality Procedure (ANPQP) awareness desirable

Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Quality Management Systems – preferably ISO9001 & IATF16949
  • Experience working within the automotive industry
  • Understanding of Quality Tools such as 5WHY, Ishikawa, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access & SharePoint)
  • Applicants with a varied background in one or more of the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Body in White, Vehicle Trim, Electrical Architecture or EV Powertrains
